Loft Conversion London
A Loft conversion London rival home extensions because the idea of making use of previously unused space is very appealing to homeowners. Loft conversions actually better home extensions in popularity when it comes to home improvement solutions because, even if the increase in property value is not as high, costs are believed to be, on average, implicitly lower.
Homeowners don’t always make the best of the space they have at hand in their own houses. Attics are sometimes abandoned, but the idea of turning them into functional rooms – may it be a gym, office, or a bedroom even, installed under the roof – makes its way through: the need for more space is likely to occur in time (changes in lifestyle, in the number of family members, in occupation, etc.)
Added value and other price-related reasons
In terms of added value, loft conversions enhance your property with an average of 10%. While slight, this figure can bring extra satisfaction in the event of a house sale. Other financial advantages are, however, to be taken into account. For instance, loft conversions are generally less expensive than home extensions. Moreover, even if having your attic transformed into a functional space by a team of professionals is recommended, this manner of improving your residence is easier to do by the title of DIY job.
No more grim spaces in your house! The attic can be turned into a pleasant refuge if the job is carefully done: the right finishing, exquisite dormers, state of the art roofing, all these boost up the look of your residence, both on the inside and on the outside.
How long will a loft conversion take?
We need six weeks to complete a loft conversion project. That is a typical conversion project. In terms of working hours, we are usually active on site between 7.45am and 5.50pm. But we are also flexible, which means we can reconfigure our program according to clients’ preferences. For the entire duration of the contract, our team will be on site taking care, amongst others, of the delivered materials (most of the materials will be delivered to the working site, during the day, so clients won’t have to bother themselves to put up with this aspect).
I myself will be on site most of the times, making sure everything is in place and goes as planned. In case we need to extend the duration of the contract due to unpredictable aspects (such as weather conditions), I will personally keep clients posted with such events. In fact, one of the tasks I undertake is to let clients know about the progress of the work at each stage.
Keep in mind the efficiency of our work and the quality of our results is owed to our thorough dedication: we never sign up to compete for two projects at a time, each client enjoys our undivided attention.
Loft conversion price
There are too many variables to take into account. Such variables make it impossible, or, at least, difficult to establish a generally applicable amount paid for loft conversion works, even on average. That’s why we can only provide a wide range of figures: costs usually range between £14,000 and £40,000. We speak here of full-scale loft conversions we execute with utter accuracy and dedication. Just like the duration of a project, its price depends on what kind of work needs to be done and on its amplitude.
Details like setting up a ladder, a hatch, beams and the like only amount to some £1000 (the work can be completed in only one day). It is an investment one is definitely recommended to make since even if it does not boost up the property value considerably, such finishing touches help sell the house more quickly. Keep in mind prices also vary by region.
Thus, when compared to other regions of the UK, where the average stabilizes between £20,000 and £30,000, in areas like London, Richmond and Twickenham prices paid for loft conversions tend to settle around an average of £40,000.
